Journey to completion FAQs
The completion timescale starts when the buyer’s solicitor receives the draft contract pack from the seller’s solicitor.
Yes. If all parties are legally ready and agree, completion can take place earlier.
Occasionally, completion may be delayed if there are outstanding legal matters or information that still needs to be resolved. If this happens, your Conveyancer and Completion Specialist will keep you informed, explain the reason for the delay and work with all parties to help the transaction progress as quickly as possible.
This depends on the circumstances and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Once funds have been transferred and the transaction is legally completed, ownership of the property transfers to you and you’ll be able to collect the keys.
You’ll usually receive the keys once completion has taken place and the seller’s Conveyancer has confirmed receipt of the purchase funds. Your Estate Agent or Conveyancer will let you know when the keys are ready to collect and where to collect them from.
