Conveyancing & Completion FAQs

The completion timescale begins when the buyer’s solicitor receives the draft contract pack from the seller’s solicitor.

The sale can still proceed, provided the necessary legal authority and documentation are in place.

The sale can still proceed, subject to the appropriate legal checks and documentation being provided.

Unless otherwise agreed, the property should be cleared of belongings and vacant possession provided by completion. Your Conveyancer will explain any specific requirements relating to your sale.

Failure to provide vacant possession where required could delay completion and may result in additional costs or legal consequences.

Make sure all requested documents have been provided and remain available by phone in case your solicitor needs instructions.

You may choose to agree a new completion date or re-market the property.

Occasionally, completion may be delayed if there are outstanding legal matters or information that still needs to be resolved. If this happens, your Conveyancer and Completion Specialist will keep you informed, explain the reason for the delay and work with all parties to help the transaction progress as quickly as possible.
