Stage overview
During this stage, we’ll complete the identity and compliance checks required to progress your sale. These checks help us verify who we’re working with, confirm that all sellers have the legal right to sell the property, and meet our legal obligations. They are a standard part of the property selling process and help keep the transaction secure for everyone involved.
These checks are completed securely in partnership with CREDAS, our trusted online identity verification provider.

Complete the final checks before marketing can begin
What's happening
We’re completing checks to confirm identity and legal ownership.
We carry out a Know Your Client (KYC) process to:
• Verify your identity
• Confirm your legal right to sell
This is completed using the CREDAS platform and you’ll receive a CREDAS identification check link from our Compliance Team.
What to expect
The process is simple and completed securely online.
• You’ll receive a secure link via email
• You’ll upload ID and take a photo
• Our Compliance Team are here to support you if needed
How you can help
Completing these checks quickly allows us to move forward to marketing.
• Complete your CREDAS check promptly – ideally on your smart phone/mobile (note - your name will always show on the initial invite as your first name and the initial of your surname)
• Provide any additional documents requested
• Ensure all sellers respond quickly

Checks are usually completed quickly once all required information has been received.
Where attorneys are appointed jointly and severally, we may need to contact all appointed attorneys to ensure everyone is aware of and agrees with the sale.
Where a property is being sold under a Power of Attorney, we must verify the relevant parties and confirm the legal authority to proceed with the sale.
For security and data protection reasons, identity documents cannot normally be accepted by email. Your Auction Specialist will explain the most appropriate way to complete your checks.
Yes. Your Estate Agent may be able to certify your documents and send them to us.
In some cases we may be able to rely on checks already completed by your Estate Agent. However, we may still need additional information to meet our own compliance requirements.
